Drunk driving is a serious problem in the United States, accounting for 32 percent of all traffic related fatalities. Unfortunately, many drivers choose to drive even after consuming alcohol. As a Seattle car accident attorney, I would like to remind drivers that even small amounts of alcohol can significantly impair driving, and lead to a car accident.
In Burien, two men were injured in a single vehicle crash on Friday. Officials believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident.
Around 8:20 p.m., a 45-year-old man was driving northbound on State Route 509 when he took the 160th St. exit. Unfortunately, the 1996 Pontiac Grand Am veered off the roadway and struck a tree. As a result, the vehicle was completely destroyed in the impact.
The driver and his 68-year-old passenger were taken to Harborview Medical Center with injuries.
The scene is currently under investigation.
We would like to remind everyone to never drink and drive. It is not worth the risk of endangering lives.
