Although car accidents happen every day, few of us imagine that we‘ll be the victims. The reality is that car accidents are entirely unexpected and oftentimes devastating.

Twelve miles south of Port Townsend, a woman was killed in a single-vehicle car crash. The accident happened this Tuesday around 1:30 p.m..

Mildred. L. Northup, 83, was traveling westbound when she lost control of her 2005 Jeep Liberty and veered off the road. She crashed into a guardrail and then went into the eastbound lanes, eventually landing in a 30 foot ditch on the left side of the road.

Northup suffered severe injuries. Emergency crews tried administering CPR, before transporting her to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Unfortunately, Northup was pronounced dead later that day.

The scene is still under investigation and we wish all the best for the victim’s family and friends during these tragic times.
