It is with heavy hearts that we report that the Mukilteo woman whose vehicle was hit as the result of a high-speed chase through Bothell and Everett has died from her injuries. Rachael Kamin was just 40 years old. She was completely uninvolved in the chase, and happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. She was reportedly driving to her job at a hospital in Everett, where she worked as a nurse when the crash occurred. As a result of the collision, her car flew through the air and onto its side, and finally came to rest in a natural gas line. Kamin was trapped in her vehicle before emergency responders cut her out of her car.

The pickup truck driver who hit Kamin was identified as Joseph D. Strange, 33, of Seattle. He is currently at the Snohomish County Jail. His reckless driving and speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour took an innocent life. Our thoughts go out to the husband and two sons of Rachael Kamin, as well as the rest of her friends and family at this difficult and saddening time.
