Many car accidents and motorcycle collisions are caused by uncontrollable road conditions. Each year, thousands of drivers are seriously injured in these catastrophic accidents.
This past Saturday, two people suffered serious injury when a deer jumped in front of their motorcycle. The accident happened around 11 p.m. in Port Orchard.
The motorcycle was going west on State Route 16 when the deer jumped over a guardrail and into the path of the vehicle, causing a terrible collision.
The 40-year-old female passenger was thrown off the motorcycle. She suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center. She is currently listed in critical condition.
The 50-year-old male driver suffered only minor injuries to his left hand.
Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
We wish them both a full recovery. Unfortunately, thousands are injured in these types of auto accidents each year. Please be careful when entering an area that is known for deer crossings.
