It only takes several seconds to cause a horrific car accident. As a Seattle wrongful death attorney, I have seen dozens of auto accidents stem from only a moment of inattention.
In North Bend, a Tacoma couple died in a tragic Interstate 90 crash. Officials believe the driver fell asleep while driving, thereby causing the fatal collision.
The incident happened around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.
According to state troopers, the vehicle veered off the freeway and then crashed into an abutment on an overpass.
The 30-year-old driver and his 26-year-old wife were instantly killed.
Three other passengers in the car were injured. A 15-year-old boy suffered a broken leg and was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The 4 and 20- year-old passengers escaped with only minor injuries.
We are very sorry to learn of this tragic loss. We offer our condolences to the victim’s friends and family.
This kind of tragedy always takes us by surprise and it is difficult to know what to do in a situation of this magnitude. In order to help families facing similar situations my colleague Patrick J. Kang and I have written a book In Case of Death: Straight Talk on Washington Wrongful Death. The book covers the essentials of Wrongful Death- and will help you to figure out what steps to take next. This book is free to Washington State residents through the preceding link.
