PLG's Teacher of the Month Award Program is one way we show our appreciation for the work being done by our local educators.

Join us in congratulating Premier Law Group's May winner, Ms. Sydney Hopper! Ms. Hopper is a language arts teacher at McKnight Middle School. As described by her students: in her classroom, each student is met with kindness and encouragement. Ms. Hopper was nominated for PLG's Teacher of the Month Award by one of her students, whose own words to define her were:

Premier Law Group congratulates attorney, Patrick Kang, for being chosen as a member of Lawyers of Distinction for 2020. This esteemed organization is recognized as “the fastest growing community of distinguished lawyers in the United States” and limits its annual membership to 10% of attorneys in any given state. Patrick Kang had to go through a rigorous selection process to receive this honor. The initial candidate pool is determined by peer recommendations and a selection committee. Next, the candidates’ work, experience, and abilities are analyzed using twelve independent criteria such as case results, community service, educational background, reputation, and professional activities. The organization, Super Lawyers, presented its annual award to the top attorneys in Washington, and this year, it designated Patrick Kang as a "Super Lawyer." Only 5% of all attorneys in the state receive this honor, and each recipient is listed with their profile in Super Lawyers Magazine. The objective is to develop a credible, comprehensive, and diverse directory of exceptional lawyers that can be used as a resource for consumers searching for legal counsel.

Premier Law Group is thrilled to see Patrick recognized for his outstanding contributions to the legal field. To receive this award, Patrick had to withstand a rigorous, multi-step screening process. Candidates are evaluated using third-party feedback, peer recommendations, managing partner surveys, and data from an attorney-led research team. After the candidate pool is determined, independent research screens lawyers based on twelve criteria such as educational background, verdicts/settlements, community service, experience, and scholarly activities. Those with the highest point totals serve on a Blue Ribbon Panel that evaluates other candidates within their primary practice area. Candidates are divided into four firm-size categories, and those with the highest point totals from each group are chosen for the award.

Mount Rainier High School Teacher, Thomas Coraggio, Nominated as Premier Law Group's Teacher of the Month  

Thomas Coraggio, a Social Studies teacher at Mount Rainier High School, is the latest Teacher of the Month honoree recognized by Premier Law Group (PLG).  Attorney Jason Epstein made a surprise visit to his classroom and presented him with the award as his students clapped and cheered enthusiastically. Epstein explained, "You were chosen from all the nominations that were submitted by the public from across King County because of your dedication to helping students succeed." Corragio was clearly stunned as he was presented the award plaque and gigantic check for $150. After expressing his gratitude to everyone, there was a burst of laughter in the classroom as he joked, "That's the biggest check I've ever seen. I don't think it will fit in my wallet!" 

The nomination submitted to PLG highlighted Coraggio's commitment to "going above and beyond" to help students reach their potential by offering creative, challenging learning opportunities combined with encouraging feedback and guidance. His dedication to students continues outside the classroom. He plays an active role in the school's Gay Straight Alliance (GSA), and he recently helped create an annual multicultural day which started this year in March.

"It was inspiring to learn about Mr. Coraggio's positive impact on so many students, in and out of the classroom. My colleagues and I are grateful to have such a dedicated and caring teacher in our community." The Teacher of the Month Program was started as part of Premier Law Group’s ongoing commitment to recognizing the outstanding contributions made by King County teachers.

The National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys (NAOPIA) has named Jason Epstein and Premier Law Group among the top ten attorneys in Washington State for the year 2017. This award was given based on Premier Law Group’s commitment to compassionate service and a high client satisfaction rate. Jason Epstein is passionate about continuing education for attorneys, especially in the field of personal injury. He has taught Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses because he knows how important it is to keep up on the latest information. Providing your clients with excellent representation means improving your own skills as often as possible. This acknowledgement from the NAOPIA is proof of his commitment to the best possible representation for all victims of negligence in Washington State.
