Every year, there are 6 million auto accidents, 2 million of these cause severe and permanent personal injuries. In fact, Auto accidents are the leading cause of acquired disability in the United States. As a personal injury attorney in Bellevue, Washington, working as a car crash lawyer, I have seen how difficult these injuries can be to recover from and often times alter a person’s lifestyle forever.
On Friday, November 12th, an elderly man and woman suffered serious injury in an Auburn car crash. At 7:00 pm, they were involved in an auto accident with another vehicle which flipped their vehicle, trapping the occupants inside. Passing motorists called the authorities and firefighters and paramedics arrived to assist the victims. The two victims in their 70’s needed to be removed from their overturned vehicle and transported to Harborview Medical Center, where they were treated for life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle sustained only minor injuries in this Auburn car crash.
The events that led up to the car crash in this case are not clear, but there are several factors that commonly contribute to nighttime auto accidents. Disobeying common traffic laws such as; posted speed limits, traffic lights, right-of-way laws and alcohol limits all contribute to the high number of auto accidents. With the limited visibility we have after dark it is important to be extra cautious on the roads and you may not been seen by another driver until it is too late. Be sure to pay close attention to your surroundings while driving at night and watch the roads for intoxicated drivers, drowsy drivers and animals that may stray, so you do not find yourself as a victim of a car crash such as this one.
