Hundreds of people are injured each year in Washington State auto collisions. When you witness hundreds of these traffic accidents, you realize just how dangerous the roadways can be. So, as a Seattle car accident attorney, I would like to remind drivers to be mindful of the road at all times.
Just this weekend, eight were injured in a car crash on Highway 97. The accident happened Saturday at about 9:30 a.m. in Brewster.
Adriana Gomez Saucedo, 18, was driving a 2004 Mazda 61 when she tried passing the 1999 GMC Yukon in front of her. The Mazda veered onto the southbound shoulder causing her to lose control of the wheel and hit the left side of the GMC. The impact forced both vehicles off the road. The Mazda rolled over twice and landed its roof.
Neither driver was injured in the collision. However, the eight passengers from both vehicle suffered various head and neck injuries.
Regrettably, thousands of people are killed or injured in traffic accidents each year. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there were an estimated 33,963 traffic fatalities in 2009. We can all help reduce these numbers. Remember, it is our responsibility to keep our roads safe.
