Ballard Car Crash Sends 3 to Harborview|Seattle Auto Accident Law

| Blog, Personal Injury

Drivers on the road must be very cautious in the unpredictable weather that Seattle has to offer. As a Washington personal injury attorney, I am constantly reminded how dangerous the roads can be. There are collisions, pileups, overturning vehicles and other fatal car crash accidents every day. A severe car crash  can lead to permanent injuries and even death. Some of the most devastating crashes however, are those that put a young child’s life in danger.

In Ballard late Thursday night, October 21st, a male driver of a Sedan collided into the back of a Subaru carrying a 40-year old man and 4-year old child. Spectators at the scene acted quickly to extinguish the flames that had ignited as a local business owner pulled the little girl from the burning wreckage. The fire department extracted the men from the Subaru and the Sedan. All three victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Three other vehicles were affected by the pile-up, but luckily, they only sustained minor injuries.

In the blink of an eye, one distracted driver was able to potentially ruin the lives of two innocent people. This story is evidence of the fact that driving a vehicle on slick Washington roads is a big responsibility. Getting behind the wheel of a vehicle puts not only your life at risk, but also the lives of those around you. It is important for drivers to observe State traffic Laws, not talk on cell phones or text while driving, and pull off the road when feeling drowsy. Because of the various distractions wrecking havoc on our roads I created the group Teens Against Distracted Driving to warn teens about the dangers of texting or using a cell phone while driving.
