Two men died this morning, in what was a horrible, three-vehicle mess of metal and concrete. A man driving his pickup east on State Route 410 reportedly lost control of his vehicle and hit the Jersey barrier that divides the east and westbound lanes. He jumped the barrier and crashed into a westbound Ford Focus. After that collision, a dump truck also heading westbound and traveling with a full load of gravel, crashed into the pickup and Focus. The drivers of the pickup and Focus, both males, died on the scene. They were not carrying any passengers. The dump truck driver only had minor injuries.

Troopers are saying that there is a cloud of mystery surrounding the accident. They are not sure how or why the pickup jumped the barrier. Investigations are being conducted, but it is not suspected that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, speed may have been a factor. Washington State Patrol Trooper Guy Gill says that the investigation is “very complex.” Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the deceased.
